The course combines distance learning with a face to face practical workshop. Two webinars (approx 2 hours) provide an introduction to the skills required to remove wax safely and to carry out clinical ear care techniques. Followed by a full day of practical training and hands on experience.

The course covers both theory and practical skills; including instrumentation,
irrigation, suction and video endoscopy.

Unit 3 - A+P
Unit 4 - Medico-legal
Unit 5 - Equipment & Procedures (one day face to face session)
Units 1-4 are delivered and assessed before the one day practical face to face training day.
A Logbook will be completed and assessed remotely for final certification.
Homework and Deadlines
CEC Clinic Log Book (homework) – x3 Client Assessment Forms to be completed within 3 months of completing the CEC course. All homework and/ or coursework must be submitted to the Course Administrator by midday of the deadline date. An electronic version must be emailed as well as 2 posted copies.
Your results will be advised to you by email and post approx. 6 weeks following the deadline (subject to Course Leader availability).

Following completion of this course, all students will be competent to manage the clinical ear care of any patient under their care. Be able to perform safe & effective aural care, identify underlying pathology & onward referral and have the knowledge and competence using various wax removal techniques and equipment.
